Mix master Alex Solano is back with his pro tips on mixing Roots Reggae using Presonus Studio One. He takes us on the mixer’s journey from setup and gain staging to finalizing. Along the way he explores every aspect of the Studio One mixing workflow starting with the drums and then woking his way through all the other instruments in this very cool reggae track.
Be sure to take special note of the section on mixing vocals where Alex explains how to set up the channels strips for both the lead and the backgrounds. To complete the course Alex focuses his attention on the master channel strip. Here he works with tape emulators, EQ and compression to deliver a warm, loud and commercial sounding track.
